    2. <<Don't know how the Richmond battlefields are doing - along with the Shenandoah battlefields, haven't visited there since '73.>> There is very little left of the Richmond battlefields - very sad. There is also very little left of the Middle Tenn battlefields - Nashville, Franklin, Spring Hill, Stones River. Shiloh is definitely one of the more pristine battlefields. I also like Antietam. Except for special events, you can still walk around parts and see very few people and there is not an overwhelming amount of monumentation. Paula

    3. Y'know, I neglected to mention Wilson's Creek - another battlefield that so far is mostly unspoiled and intact. Harper's Ferry is probably one of the most beautiful parks. Surrounded by mountains right at the confluence of the Potomac and Shenandoah, the view is stunning. Dennis
