Sara, I have gone thru ancestry.com data bases on civil war soldiers and did not find any Sims who might be your David Thompson Sims. There were literally hundreds upon hundreds of Sims soldiers; but no David Thompson Sims, or David T. Sims or D. T. Sims or D Sims (there were some D. Sims who served in the Union Army.) That doesn't mean he didn't serve; Just didn't find any match for him. I have seen civil war soldiers in their 40's and 50's; granted they are a small miniority. You gave him the title of "Major". Could you please tell me where that came from? He was b.1814 NC so in 1860 he would have been age 46. Is that too old for serving? He was listed in the 1860 census in Polk Cty, NC. By the 1870 census, he was in Edgefield Cty, SC. Any help is greatly appreciated. Sara ==== CIVIL-WAR Mailing List ==== To unsubscribe from list mode, email [email protected] and in the text area of the message, type only the word unsubscribe
