Roy This website lists Company C of the 6th Ga State Guards. http://ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/ga/military/civilwar/rosters/6thcoc.txt At Soldiers and Sailors there is an Alphonso Hardeman listed as well as a A Hardaman (may be the same man) in the 6th Georgia Infantry State Guards. This unit had about 900 men in it. One of the men was listed was a Samuel W Mangham who came in as a private companies F & S and went out as a Lt. Col.. Mangham was listed in the Confederate Military History in May 11, 1861 as a Captain of the Fifth Regiment of Georgia Volunteers In the OR serving under Brigadier General Henry R Jackson in a category called "Georgia State Troops" is Lt. Col. Samuel Mangham in command of 6th Georgia State Guard as a Lt Colonel. This was from January 1 to February 29 1864 OR Series I Vl 35 book 1. I am not an expert on Georgia Troops but perhaps someone who is can fill in more information.
