    3. Thank you for offering help. I found a site on tripod. I am looking for a Uriah Wilson Davis, called Wilson frequently, who md. Hannah Campbell in 1843 in either Haywood or Buncombe Co., NC. He was living in Gordon County, GA in 1860 census, but his estate entered administration in Walker Co., GA 9 Jan 1863. I have the photocopy of the estate administration. I can't find him in 60th Georgia Inf. however. The Museum of the Confederacy advised me that sometimes soldiers returned to their home area to enlist with relatives. Thank you for your offer. I would like to know when and where he died as there is a soldier of the same name who was reported as deserted, but the desertion date is after my Wilson's estate entered administration. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Kevin Frye" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, February 16, 2006 6:25 PM Subject: Re: [CIVIL-WAR] 60th Georgia Infantry, Company D >I have access to the Georgia Confederate rosters. > > Kevin Frye > Andersonville Historian / NPS Volunteer > www.angelfire.com/ga2/Andersonvilleprison/index.html > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Sybil Chapman" <[email protected]> > To: <[email protected]> > Sent: Thursday, February 16, 2006 7:25 PM > Subject: [CIVIL-WAR] 60th Georgia Infantry, Company D > > >> Does anyone have a roster of this company? 3. Ok, This is what I found but I dont know if its helpful. Source Roster of the Confederate soldiers of Ga 1861-1865 it shows Georgia 60th Co. G was the Evans Brigade, Gordons Division Army of Northern Virginia CSA from Whitfield County Ga, Whitfiled Volunteers There is no listing for any soldier that might be him. In the same books index there are no U. or Uriah Davis listed in any Georgia regiments however, It does show the following. Davis, Wilson PVT. August 31 1861 Deserted September 3 1863. Index shows Vol. 2 page 1021 I went to that volume and it shows this one was in the 23rd Company B Georgia Infantry from Union County. The index is for the above noted source its the centennial editon. I checked the 1995 Georgia Division United Daughters of the Confederacy Roster of Confederate Graves for Georgia for any name that might be Uriah Wilson Davis , and none are listed. I wish I had more. 3. Thank you for being helpful. I have the muster rolls for that soldier, also. However, if memory serves me correctly, my Uriah Wilson Davis's estate was already in administration by the time this Davis deserted. There was another relative with the same name in Union Co., GA. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Kevin Frye" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, February 17, 2006 7:08 PM Subject: Re: [CIVIL-WAR] 60th Georgia Infantry, Company D > Ok, This is what I found but I dont know if its helpful. > > Source > Roster of the Confederate soldiers of Ga 1861-1865 > it shows Georgia 60th Co.
