He was from Carthage, Moore Co., NC. He and his wife, Nanct Stewart Oates lived there until his death. Why I am on the war benge, is the last cencuc I saw of the it showed he was Parelized. I wondered if he got shot and it left him that way? I find no Parham Oates listed for either Union or Confederate Forces on the Civil War Soldiers and Sailors System. Which census was he on, and how old was he? Need a lookup for a John Streetman who was with Company K, 10th TN Infantry. Need to find out if this man was listed as being from Mississippi.
