Mike, Thanks for your response. As it turns out, I was actually looking for the wrong Richards--looking for Elijah, the younger brother of Samuel. It doesn't appear that either was a Civil War Soldier. Your help with Carroll Hulin the other day paid dividends. I always appreciate your help.
