Diane, His father was from Reading,MA. I have no birth date for James and He was not married. There is only his death date. I have been doing civil war research for over 30 years, I can find no record on him. I was hoping that maybe someone out there would have information on MA soldiers. Ted, Was his father's name Lowell Green? Was he a shoemaker? I found a family in the 1850 census in Reading, MA. If this is his family, I might be able to trace where they were living in 1860 or in the Massachusetts state census of 1865. I can also check the mass vital records for birth records, but I really need to know at least one of his parents first name or a siblings name. Diane, Yes his father was Lowell Green, he is a great Uncle, and I did find that they lived in Reading, but most of the children were born in Stoneham, where some of my Green family also lived.
