I'm looking for info on James Spencer. He was born May 1863 in New York. Family lore has it that he worked at the circus as a trapez artist and got injured in an accident. He then went to work as a painter and entertainer in New York. The 1900 census has him living in Syracuse New York and working as "painter watercolor". He got married in 1885 to Annetta Bennett of PA (a nurse). He did not get married in his hometown, so maybe he met her on the curcuit or after his accident (her being a nurse). He had two sons George (1887) and James Fayette (1892).
