Hello list, I am new to this list and have watch all the great activity going on. Thought I would join in. My grandparents where from Spokane WA. I believe they either join a traveling carnival together from there, or my grandmother met my grandfather who was already a member of the circus. They traveled throughout the NW with this carnival together between the 1925 and 1930 but were not married. My mother believes my grandfather was a musician, playing the mylaphone (similar to the xylophone), drums, and other percussion instruments. She believes they both did odd jobs about the circus, including cooking and caring for the animals. My mother was born in Feb of 1928 in Nebraska and her birth certificate states her father was a broom winder (I think, it is very hard to read). What I am looking for is any information on traveling carnivals/circus who traveled the Northwest and would/could have wintered in the Nebraska area. I did not know my grandfather at all and am interested in discovering more about his life. Thank you for listening and for any help in advance. Christine San Mateo, CA.
