My husband's ggrandfather, James Turner Anderson, is the son on Solomon Anderson, Jr. and Rebecca Prescott. I have recently learned that Solomon Anderson, Sr. was the son of Daniel Anderson and a Choctaw Indian named Jenny (Michou). Is this the same Solomon Anderson that you are descended from? Would love to learn more if you have more about this family. I have been searching for years trying to find the Indian connection that family had mentioned. Thanks for any information you can share. Cecilia, I am a descendant of Solomon Anderson, Sr. who m. Ruth Turner. According to Bible Records she was a Choctaw; according to 1850 census she was from North Carolina. I have land record of Jenny, w/of Daniel Anderson selling her Choctaw land in Miss.,with heirs listed w/spouses, but Solomon is not listed. ?? I have Estate papers of Solomon, Sr. with Solomon, Jr. as Administrator. This lists Solomon Sr's. children. One of the daughters, Clara Anderson m. John Harger. Her daughter, Sarah HargerWhittle Whittle is on Dawes Roll. My family was never told any of this, so have few clues to follow. We found out too late to ask questions of parents or grandparents. My research on the Choctaws in Alabama led to this information. Do you have any information on Daniel Anderson? where he came from? who his parents were? Time period when he was in Mississippi Territory? Hope to hear from you.
