Christy If you have your dad's birth certificate, please look at the back of it and see if there are any numbers on it. I have a friend here in North Carolina who was adopted in 1932 and she took her birth certificate that her adoptive parents were given at her adoption to the courthouse in the county where she was adopted. She handed the numbers that were stamped on the back of it to the clerk in the office and asked them what the numbers meant? The clerk went to the birth record book, pulled out a birth certificate and handed it to her. It was her original birth certificate. She was able to find out who her birth mother was [she was already dead by this time]. The lady [mother] was a habitual liar. The father was named. He was a Messer, and we are still trying to figure out who in the heck he was. I cannot promise that this would ever happen anywhere else, but it is worth looking.
