FYI: Ida Conn Brantley was the sister of my mother's widowed mother, Sally Conn Jones b. MO d. 15/16 Apr 1895 Grayson Co TX, and Sally's brother John H Conn b. 1860 KY, who removed with his son Frank to Fort Bend Co TX after trying to take Sally's orphaned daughter Eunice from Uncle John's former wife after Sally died. Ida Conn Brantley lived with her husband and I think two daughters and a son close to her sister Sally near the site of the present Denison Dam, which created Lake Texoma. My mother, Unus (Eunice) Annie Jones b. 1888 OKIT d. 1987 Dallas TX, often spoke of playing with Aunt Ida Conn Brantley's children and wondered what became of them when they disappeared from her life. In later years, she was told that one of the daughters was adopted by a Sherman doctor, who gave her a farm west of Denison when she married. --- JOHNSONALBERTD@aol.com wrote: > LOOKING FOR INFORMATION ON: > LEONA GILMER BRANTLEY, BORN AUG. 20, 1901, LEAKE > CO., MS > PARENTS:(FATHER) ROBERT GILMER, HIS MOTHER WAS DORA > GILMER > (MOTHER) LEONA DENNIS, WAS A FULL > BLOODED CHOCTAW > > LEONA GILMER BRANTLEY HAD SEVERAL SISTERS: > INA > CLEOLA > > LEONA GILMER MARRIED ROBERT (BOB) GILMER. > > ROBERT GILMER WAS A HOLINESS PREACHER AND FARMER-WAS > KILLED DUE TO FALL FROM > MULE DRAWN PLOW, BURIED IN SALEM CHURCH CEMETERY > NEAR MERIDIAN, MS. > > LEONA GILMER BRANTLEY, RAISED 6 DAUGHTERS BY > HERSELF: > HELEN-JEAN-BILLIE-EZELL-BOBBIE-MARGARET IN WALNUT > GROVE, MISSISSIPPI AND > SURROUNDING SMALL TOWNS. > > > ==== CHOCTAW-SOUTHEAST Mailing List ==== > DON'T FORGET OUR ARCHIVES.
