Please see my 'note' addressed to your attention, Susanna, at Choctaw-Southeast re Charles Brashear. Cordially, Angelyn ------ Original Message ----- From: Susanna Noe Sent: Sun, Oct 27, 2002 1:05pm To: <CHOCTAW-SOUTHEAST-L@rootsweb.com> Subject: Re: [CHOCTAW-SE] Am I part American Indian-ie......Choctaw,Cherokee.... Well don't confuse this with the previous work of Mr. Brashears regarding the Choctaw information of John Brasher and Nancy Jane Lipsic Black. In that regard his information is not the same as the lawyers assessment regarding the Dawes Application of Mississippi Choctaw descendant Scott S. Dumas et al.; see Kitty Garber's copy, which she made personally, of the original handwritten testimony submitted by Charles Van Weise two months AFTER the decision of the commission on May 15, 1903, which denied the application ! A total different story emerges of that group from the one presented by Mr. Brashears. His 5th book should be published soon. You might also check > http://www.choctaw-web.com/brashears.htm > There you will find 22 pages of Brashears beginning with Zadock, Sr., who was married to Susanna(h) Vaughan, a Choctaw, and Rachel Durant, Creek. > Angelyn > > ------ Original Message ----- > > From: josie2@centurytel.net > Sent: Wed, Oct 23, 2002 12:12am > To: <CHOCTAW-SOUTHEAST-L@rootsweb.com> > Subject: [CHOCTAW-SE] Am I part American Indian-ie......Choctaw,Cherokee..anything? > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Surnames: Breshears, Brashear, Breshear.....etc > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/4gC.2ACE/1006 > > Message Board Post: > > Have been working on genoelogy off and on for two years-Last spring I came upon info on some of my DIRECT descendants. > The further I went into the files, I came upon a whole list of Breshears names-some spelled differently-but still Breshears-it was on a page "INDIAN RECORDS OF THE 5 TRIBES-DAWES ROLLS-(possibly)?????????? > Both of my parents were extremely compassionate of the Amercian Indian-I have always been equally so-When I cam upon the info that stated I might possible be part Indian-I was ecstatic!!!!!!!!!!I just don't know where to email or call or write--to get more info-to see if I am-My ancestor names appeared directly before the Berry M.
