Jen, I checked my Washington County History and on p. 417-418: Jacob Pyburne age 20, American, w/3 slaves and Mrs. Pyburne, age 18 American in Appendix 13, "District of San Esteban De Tombecbe, Census of persons living in this section, with regard to their country of origin, ages, children and slaves, according to the tally made during the past year 1796 for the regulation of 1797." p. 2 "SPANISH Land Grants, Book 001 Old St. Stephens Land Office Reocrds, p. 38. Michael Milton was granted land on River Tensaw bounded by WIDOW PYBURN and Reuben Dayer on 8/18/1798 by Gayoso. I checked through some other land office records for Alabama, but did not find any other Pyburns. Hope this helps.
