I'm hoping one of you veteran researchers can give me some good advice. I have a ggg-grandmother b@1797, who knows where. Family history says she was full-blooded Choctaw. She first shows up in MS in 1820. They used to hide out when Indians were being rounded up as they put it. Her name was Margaret Aiken/Atkinson according to two different family bibles, but one may have been her maiden name and one may have been her previous married name, members of the family referred to her as the widow Aiken. I'm trying to get any clues as to where to look and how to get her native name from her American name. Thanks, redfox
