George Ann previously wrote that there are many Seri all over California but suffer dilution of their heritage from tourists and pollution but none of that seems to apply to what was in the film which I found to be very troubling, especially the part that featured the eldest member of the tribe who was the repository of all the tribe's history and who had his eyes plucked out and his tongue cut off according to the film makers. You could see him being led around by a string that he held on to and he didn't look like he had any eyes. And apparently this was a decision of the leaders of the tribe to do this to the old man. Again, I found it sad. The only reference points, geographically, in the film were Baja California, and an island off of Baja California called Tiburon Island.
