Marie James Orman , full blood member of the Choctaw Tribe of Oklahoma was born to Choctaw enrollees, Wilburn and Lizzie Johnson James on November 18, 1920 at McCurtain ( Haskell Co. ) Oklahoma and passed away August 26, 2006 at the age of 85. Funeral Services were Tuesday, August 29, 2006 at Antioch Baptist Church, Stigler, Oklahoma with burial in Siloam Springs Cemetary. Choctaw hyms filled the church on this day, sang by a large group of Marie's dearest friends. For this friend in attendance it resembled a large Choctaw Choir. I can't remember a gathering in recent times where I saw a group this large sing the hymns of our ancestors.A final quote in the Choctaw language, printed in her obituary card, a favorite of Marie simply stated: CHIPESALACHIKE " SEE YOU LATER" Thank You James Brown
