Hello list members, have any of you encountered a place name around Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, called Choquopoulou, Mississippi, or spelt Chucupulu, Mississippi. I've discovered this name in the "Dispensation Records" with regard to some of my Ladner/Bourgeois ancestors and was wondering if it was a Choctaw name or, if not, was it an Indian name at all and if so from what tribe would it have been around Bay St. Louis, circa 1801?
