Also be aware that a lot of Indians sold, traded or otherwise transferred their land script to devious Anglos indulging in the act of "Grafting". If this is the case, usually the records you get from the BLM will give the white's name with"agent for...", or "acting as agent for" and then the Choctaw's name that the script was issued in. We discussed the practice of Grafting at length a couple of years ago, so those posts should be available in the Archives. Go to: http://listsearches.rootsweb.com/?list=CHOCTAW-SOUTHEAST and type in "Grafting" where it says "query".
