LadyDragon, one way is to look at Rootsweb Family trees to see if there is another person researching that name, and if they have submitted any info. There was one result, searching for Isaac Ralph, with wife Jane. It can be viewed at:http://wc.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=ar_families&id=I4402 Click on Jane's name to view more info. You can contact the posted by the email address provided. Another way is to simple do a Google search on those names, don't forget to put the last name first in one search, so that you will get results that list the surname in alpha order. Fran Bolton In a message dated 5/24/2006 9:14:51 P.M. My mother will be 82 on Aug. 1 this year. She was born in 1924. Her name is Irene Ralph. Her fathers name was Searle David Ralph born Feb. 8, 1899. I am 53 years old. My daughter is 32 years old. We found Searle, Irene at the same address in the 1930's census records. Is there any way to find more info on Isaac and Jane Ralph please?

Yes, that's why I said likely. You would need to get a copy of the card to make sure. But I have look at a lot of the Choctaw census cards and that is most often the case. If you have a young man listed and then two other people with the same last name as parents they most often turn out to be his parents. The other parents listed would be the parents of the female. Also what I am saying is that Isaac and Jane them selves are not listed on the Dawes rolls. Only James Franklin Standley would have been inrolled. The only way for Ella to be listed is if she were married to James. And she is listed as intermarried white. -----Original Message----- From: Jane Stetts [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Wednesday, May 24, 2006 11:02 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [CHOCTAW-SE] Choctaw Original Enrollees Tammy J., I looked at that myself. Tammy J., I looked at that myself. I do not see that Isaac or Jane are listed as parents to Standleys. I only see that they were parents. Jane I'm just telling you about the people list on Choctaw Card # 5712 Name: *Ralph, Isaac* > Tribe: Choctaw > Record Type: enrollment > Sex: M > Enrollment Type: P (Parent) > Card No.: 5712 This Isaac Ralph is listed as a parent to Ella who is listed as intermarried white. These people were living in Indian Territory (what is now Oklahoma) The Isaac and Jane Ralph are listed as parents. My mother wrote a letter that I still have explaining some of it. She states that my great grandmother died in child birth. That is very plausible because we have had great difficulties at times in child births. She went on to say that my great grandparents were from the indian territories. That when my great grandmother died, my grandfather took all the children to fla. He adopted out the 5 little ones there in Fla. My grandmother and others in my family have told of family members having been taken and put in the carlisle indian school in Penn.. I am in the process of trying to find any records of that now. Oh and Isaac Ralph was born Aug. 13, 1878. We could not find any info on Jane Ralph any place. Are there any Blue surnames?
From what I can understand, there have been ongoing squabbles over borders between Texas, Okla, La. and Ark. forever, especially between Texas/Okla. The present Arkansas borders were set in 1836 when it became a state. Earlier maps show that 'Ark. Territory' included a lot of what is now Oklahoma. dusty ----- Original Message ----- From: "James Brown" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, May 23, 2006 8:38 PM Subject: Re: [CHOCTAW-SE] Indian Territory > Did this territory that the Choctaws received, known as Arkansas Indian > Territory, become part of the present state of Oklahoma or was in lost in > cessions,,,Than You > ----- Original Message ----- > From: <[email protected]> > To: <[email protected]> > Sent: Tuesday, May 23, 2006 8:18 PM > Subject: Re: [CHOCTAW-SE] Indian Territory > > > > Mississippi Choctaws received territory in what is now the state of > > Arkansas > > after ceding their original land in Miss. after the Treaty of Doaks Stand. > > This territory was know as "Arkansas Indian Terr." > > > > dusty > > ----- Original Message ----- > > From: "April" <[email protected]> > > To: <[email protected]> > > Sent: Tuesday, May 23, 2006 6:32 AM > > Subject: Re: [CHOCTAW-SE] Indian Territory > > > > > >> In the 1860 census, Ancestry lists some of Arkansas as "Indian Lands". > >> April > >> > >> James Brown <[email protected]> wrote: > >> was any part of arkansas or texas ever recognized as Indian Territory? > > Thanks James > >> > >> > >> ==== CHOCTAW-SOUTHEAST Mailing List ==== > >> Need more CHOCTAW information?? I am an elder in the Mexica Red Tradition, the origin of this dance form, and know something about its history. If you want more information, contact me personally. <[email protected]> Also, I sent a previous email that apparently did not go through about one story that seems to contain a Nahuatl word. Nahuatl is the language that the Aztecs and their descendants speak. If anyone is interested in that data, contact me personally. <[email protected]> Holabitubbe --- [email protected] wrote: > I just got back from Los Angeles visiting my > daughter and we went to a > festival where the Aztec dancers performed. Dusty , do you know of any site that I might exchange information about "shape shifters" and/or any "Ghost" stories among the Choctaws....I remember all the old stories that were told by my Grandmother and her sister, both 4/4 degree Choctaws....Now I know that one of the stories they told would be considered a story about shape shifting. Althought they never said that and only recently did I realize it. Thanks James
