    3. The Census card refers to everyone who was related and went in at the same time to register. My grandmother has the same census # as her cousins, because they went in as a family. Her father and mother have the same # but her brothers were of legal age and married and when they went in to Register they got seperate Census card # as did their parentsagain. So if you put in my grandmothers Census Card # it will bring up all that were registered with her. If you put in her brothers Census Card # it will bring up who was registered with him. Sure would have made it easier to understand if the whole family had gone in together to Register. It gives the degree of blood and relationship also. I hope I have not confused you. 3. James, I have found this as well. The census was taken in 1896, but many of the application were later. In most of my own cases I can determine the birthdate by entering the year as 1899. That is your three year span. On many of the original census cards, the birthdate was recorded on the card and then to the side is an age update of ususally three years. Hope this helps, April "Tammy J." <[email protected]> wrote: This is the way my family census card is. I have a copy of the card. Jason, if you go to Rootsweb WORLD CONNECT Project, at _http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/_ (http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/) you can type in your research subject's name, and view family trees that contain that name. The contributor of the tree provides his email address. One contributor is named Wall, a descendant of Benjamin Lea and Mary Raborn. Wall is a well known Choctaw surname, so this may be a person to compare family info with, bu contacting him at his email address that is provided. 2. Further info on the Line Creek Cemetery. Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana: Benjamin Thomas Lea donated 5 acres for the building of a church (Line Creek Baptist Church) and 5 acres for the cemetery. Both he and his wife, Mary Grabraelin Raborn (listed as Mary G. Lea above) , are buried there along with many of his descendants. Mr. Lea was the great grandfather of Jimmy Wall, who provided this information about the cemetery. The Line Creek Baptist Church is in charge of maintaining the cemetery Fran Bolton

    2. I haven't seen the records you cite, but it's possible that the database you are looking at is the date of the original application and the age on the CD is the age he would have been when the roll was actually compiled and published. Choctaw by Blood ages on the CD are calculated as of September 25, 1902. Applications were started in 1896 and the enrollment process went until about 1914. dusty ----- Original Message ----- From: "James Brown" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, June 19, 2006 6:43 PM Subject: [CHOCTAW-SE] > Can someone answer this for me?
