The Oklahoma Historical Society has these papers in OK City or any papers where the Court was held in OK. There are people that can help you locate what you need. They are open on Sat. If you see a mention to The American State Papers in the Court Case you look for, these books can also be found there or at a major library in the Genealogy section. Vol. 7 is worth reading. It may explain a few things and also make you ask more questions. Hope this will help you. In a nutshell, they were all eventually thrown out of court. All these records are stored at the National Archives in Ft. Worth, Texas. A couple years ago I sent for a copy of my grandfather's application for his ss card which gave me the names of his parents. I might still have the address........somewhere!
This may be coincidental, but the town of Tullos is very near Jena, LA, where the group with national recognition is located. E.B.
T. T. Durant: I'm unsure as I have yet to identify my ggg grandmother, Julia's, other children. Texas is so close to Mississipppi that your kinsmen could be related. I've got some research to do to identify Julia's other children and then I'll be able to discuss the possibility better. Lori
Where can we find a list of the signers of the Treaty of Dancing Rabbit Creek? Also were the names PARNELL, PARRISH, or MOSLEY (MOSELY or MOSELEY) included in Goss' book? Thanks, EB
Dusty: Perhaps I used the term "Mississippi Choctaws" loosely. However, this is the way it was stated in the case files. By chance, do you know if the Mississippi Band issued a letter to possible members (for lack of a better word) inviting them to relocate to Oklahoma or remain in Mississippi? This letter thing has had me puzzled for years. Can you give me some direction on this? Thanks, Lori

Dusty: Unfortunately, they were all rejected because of insufficient evidence to identify them. When I look at the questions that they were asked by the Commission, it was easy to determine that they would be refused because they had not made claim to joining the Choctaws prior to filing their enrollment application. The case files indicate that they came from Alabama prior to moving to Mississippi. I believe Choctaw, Alabama was mentioned by my gg grandmother's half brother in his case file. Thanks for your help. Lori Lori
