    1. RE: [CHOCTAW-SE] Choctaw book
    2. Joe Rhemann
    3. Hello Stacie, The auction of this book stirred quite a controversy. It seems that the antique dealer who was attempting to sell it on Ebay chose instead to donate it to the Choctaw museum in Talihina. Please check with Terry Cole in the tribal heritage office. I was told that the seller caught wind of legal proceedings by the tribe to prevent the public sale of this book since it is a governmental record book that is the property of the Choctaw Nation and not legally title-able to private ownership. In actuality, I do not know the final disposition or the behind the scene's story. I was just one of the bidders who was trying to win the auction in order to repatriate the book for our people. 3. Your Paul Homma is on family census card no. 1826, Choctaw by Blood on the Final Dawes roll of 1896. Write to the National Archives Southwest Branch, P. O. Box 6216, Ft. Worth, Texas 76115 and ask for copies of the documents in his enrollment packet, including a copy of the original application. He should have listed his parents on that application. dusty ----- Original Message ----- From: <Grannymax4@cs.com> To: <CHOCTAW-SOUTHEAST-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, August 12, 2002 1:47 PM Subject: Re: [CHOCTAW-SE] Re: Mississippi Choctaw ancestry > I am hunting ancestors of Paul Homma, b. 1869 who is on the Choctaw rolls. > I an not firgure how to get this on this web that gives me all these messages. > If you can help in any way, I would appreciate it.
