    1. [CHOCTAW-SE] Dawes information
    2. ANGELYN CUNNINGHAM
    3. I THINK I sent this before, but just in case...........Dusty, I want to get my GGgrandmother's Dawes application materials. These are numbers given to me by a cousin. Are they correct: Matilda Elizabeth Manning, age 59 (1896), 1/2, Dawes #11015. The cousin then had Tribal #8771. Later same cousin wrote adding these numbers from 1902: Census #3921, page #66, age 62. Line #11015. Which, if any are correct, do I use to send to National Archives in Ft. Worth? Thanking you in advance, Angelyn

Could we have kin in common? Love to hear from you , Deborah

It's meaning comes from a cactus type plant that grows in the Mediterranean region. There were 2 ladies by this name in my family, from different branches of the tree. There is a Joseph ROUSE listed in Moore County 1800 census, with wife, 4 boys and 2 girls. NC State Archives (Raleigh) have a great collection of records, might be an idea to contact them. Where in GA did John and Sabra live ? Kathy Roberts

    2. Lori, First let me make a correction. His brother, Michael, makes the flutes. No, I didn't consider them expensive. I spent $35 on one and $20 on the other. The craftsmanship is amazing. I don't know of another place but will check online and will see if I still have the receipt from the trading post. Jeanie

    3. Perhaps Sabra comes from the Hebrew Bible. In the current day vernacular, Sabra is what native-born Israelis call themselves. They had at least one son Ely Rouse born 1826 North Carolina before they moved to Georgia (the state). between 1826 and 1829. Sabra is a very beautiful and unusual name , we were trying to place It's origin. Thank you for any input you may have .
