I'm looking to connect with others who have info on these surnames. >> Have you looked at the 1850 Clarke County, Mississippi census? There is a family of about 8 or 9 Hawkins who came frrom Alabama. There is also a Nathan Brady family which includes one Hawkins girl and Nathan's wife Margaret whose maiden name was Hawkins. My family thinks that these Hawkins were Cherokees. One of my aunts has an old family bible which notes that Nathan married a Cherokee in 1840.

    3. Suzie, you weren't asking me, but Louis LeFlore was Michael's brother, NOT his father. Remember Dina Lynn finding something saying Louis, Michael and Suzanne came to MS Territory after their parents died of the yellow fever!? ('Course we can't find anywhere else that they had a sister Suzanne!) Anyway, according to http://members.tripod.com/~Chester_M/DESCENDANTS-4.htm Michael LeFlore and his wife "Achuka" had a son named Jackson and a son named Thomas. Thomas married, according to Oklafalaya (Sandra) Susan "Sukey" Pusley and they had daughters Nicey and Laris Narcissy LeFlore. Laris married (1) George W. Harkins, (2) Isaac Morris Garland. By Issac she had a daughter named Levicy "Sibby" Garland who married 3 times. The only Louisa Harkins that I know of, off-hand, was Louisa LeFlore, daughter of Louis and Nancy Cravat(t), who married John Harkins. 3. Ron - What Williams; where and when?? My GGGrandmother was Mariah Williams, a half-Choctaw who was in Arkansas in 1828 and was removed to IT along with the Old Settler Cherokees in the first removal of peoples to IT at that time. As far as I know she stayed in the Cherokee country, or, possibly the Creeks near Muskogee. All I know is her name, but nothing about who her parents, origen or immediate descendants were ( I suspect her daughter or granddaughter married a man named Wilkes around the Ft. Gibson/Tahlequah area of NE Okla.) Any help would be appreciated. Yokoke.
