    2. Richard Wilson
    3. Halito All: I have discovered that my g-grandparents used to take the family to the Choctaw reservation to visit family. Their names were: H. S. (Hannibal or Hamilton? Sanders) known as Sanders McNabb (McNab, McKnab McKnabb)and Elizabeth "Betsie" Hanks McNabb. Children: James Harvey, Mary E., Louisa E., Isaac W., Robert, Sarah F., William F., Fielding, Arminnia, Elizabeth, Evalena (Lena) Sanders Mcnabb was the son of Isaac and Elizabeth_____? Mcnabb. Elizabeth "Betsie" Hanks McNabb, my g-grandmother was the daughter of William Hanks and Louisa possibly Elizabeth Louisa Hall. William Hanks was the son of Fielding Hanks and Lydia Harper Hanks (daughter of John and Mary Ann _____? Harper and first born in Boonesborough). I have listed the above mentioned surnames as clues for anyone who might recognize this story. I have also listed surnames on this sight 07/13/02, which is a more comprehensive listing of surnames in my family attempting enrollment in the Choctaw Nation under the "Dawes Act". If anyone recognizes this story, please contact me on this sight or on my email. Imafo __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo! He was supposed to have told one of my uncles about being from a small town in Mississippi called Philadelphia, but when Henry C. Ward answered questions on the 1920 census, he said both his parents were born in Georgia. thanks again for inpu _________________________________________________________________ Join the world’s largest e-mail service with MSN Hotmail. http://www.hotmail.com

    3. Joe, did Cornelius Rogers have a middle name or other name. A Clement C. Rogers received Township 9, Range 3 West on Jan 30, 1860, "Abstracts of Land Sold at St. stephens March 1859-Jan. 1861, Book 077." Several Land Acts were passed in 1820 giving people an opportunity to return part of the land they had purchased earlier on credit (called Land Relinquishment Acts) People could buy 160 acres for 1/4th down and pay rest off in 3 years. Many people had to give up part of their land because they could not make payment. They could return part of it and keep what that had paid for. Many actually received title at a later date. I did the research for St. Stephens Historicl Commission an agency established to develop the site of Old St.Stephens, Alabama's Territorial capital into a state park. I also wrote the History of Washington County: The first County in Alabama where St. Stephens Land Office was established in 1803 while it was the Mississippi Territory. I will keep an eye out for Cornelius Rogers. Could his father have been William Rogers? William was in area as early as 1797 under Spanish rule. Good luck with your search, Jackie ----- Original Message ----- From: "Joe Lee" <jlee@centex.net> To: <CHOCTAW-SOUTHEAST-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, September 03, 2002 3:47 PM Subject: [CHOCTAW-SE] Cornelius Rogers; Alabama Land Record > My ggggrandfather was Choctaw.
