Most people who were rejected for the Final Roll in 1906 were simply because they couldn't prove/document to the satisfaction of the Enrollment Committee that they were of Indian heritage. They didn't take your word for it - one had to have proof of Indian blood (of sufficient quantity) in their direct blood lineage, or be married to someone who had. you didn't say which tribe your ancestor claimed.
