In various sources he is listed as John C. Jones, John W. Jones, even once as John "Sparkman" or John "Jack" Jones. Here is his info. John W. Jones, b. 10 Feb. 1837 in Beverly, Sebastian Co., AR. He m. Martha Arbuckle (b. Feb. 1845, MO) in abt. 1859 in Van Buren, Sebastian Co., AR., and he died 19 Feb. 1882 in AR. the Arbuckle family that this John Jones b. 1837 married into has an extensive genealogy. Martha Arbuckle is well attested, and one note I found on Rootsweb.com may explain the reason for the difficulty I've had with her husband John Jones b. 1837. It states as follows: >>Note: Per descendent (Layton Jones), Martha and John had >>eight children and lived in Arkansas. >>Family history >>says that Martha's family disapproved of John as he was a >>full Choctaw Indian and >>this family seems to disappear >>after the 1880 census. Seems that the name, heritage, and timing is right for him to be related (son?) to the John Jones SR. that you have listed, or the other Joneses... any info on whether any of them went to Arkansas ? Any help is appreciated. Thanks! Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
