Do you know where the name of a town or County/District -- "Blue" -- in the Choctaw nation, came from, its origins? It probably had nothing to do with those few Catawba I've read about, but wonderin' about something just isn't the same thing as knowin' about it. :) One o' these days -- if I live long enough to retire for good -- I'm gonna check the records at Fort Worth (National Archives) or Oklahoma Historical Society building (across the street from the state capital) and see if I can find a record of these Catawba I've been told about. On Catawba websites originating in the Carolinas they mention this migration of some Catawba families moving to near Skullyville, Choctaw Nation, but no one here in Oklahoma seems to have ever heard of it. hmmm . . . I have to exercize that gray matter -- I'm afraid it'll die out on me if I don't! :) vh Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
