That is all I have on him, but that bit of info is found on the Choctaw Reserve Rolls ( microfilm) roll # 192, look at frame 678. He is also mentioned in the book, "Who Was Who Among the Southern Indians 1698 - 1907" by Don Martini, on page 493. There is also an Eden Nelson in the book, also listed as a Choctaw, who was a signer of the 1830 treaty. In 1831 he lived on the west side of Yalobusha River in LeFlore's District. At that time he had 3 members in his household. Some time after signing the treaty he moved to the Tallahatchie River to live. He was witness to a deed in Desoto County, Mississipppi on March 31, 1836. ( Desoto County Deeds, Book A page 32). At the time of his removal to the west, his family consisted of 3 males, 3 females, and 8 slaves. In 1847 his wife, Ishtimahoyo, was living in the Chickasaw Nation where she was listed in the Chickasaw census as being 1/4 white ,and the head of a household that consisted of 2 males under age 18, 1 female under 16, and 1 female ( Ishtimahoyo ) over 16 . In 1855, the census of Kiamitia County ( Choctaw Nation) shows Eden Nelson, and living with him were Nancy, William, and Elzira Nelson. Found on page 493 of the book. Also check the Chickasaw Emigration Rolls microfilm, roll 144, frame 347. An Isaac Nelson, listed as Choctaw lived on the east side of Yalobusha River in 1831, and at that time he had 8 persons in his household. Mitchell Nelson is listed as a Choctaw as well. He was a candidate for district chief in 1866 against George Folsom in 1866. He was living in Blue County in 1883. same book, page 494 That is all the info I have in my materials. Hope some of it is helpful to you. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
