They were among the children of William Doak and Anne (Stuart? Stewart? Starratt?) Doak of Guilford County, North Carolina. Boyd Doak was one of the sons of William Doak, and therefore a nephew of Josiah. I don't believe the evidence supports "brothers" in Doaksville. If William went with Josiah to Indian Territory, he didn't stay long. He died in Washington County, Mississippi, in October, 1832, and the administration of his estate was completed in Tallahatchie County, Mississippi, when that county was created from Washington County, soon after William's death.
