<< I was reading an article at the website of Debbie about "SHAKAPAHONA " SOOKIE " ( PUSLEY ) LeFLORE Wife of Chief Thomas " Tom" LeFlore >> Tammy, I don't think Shakapahona and Susan Pusley LeFlore are the same person. Shakapahona is listed as being from Sugar Loaf County and there is indeed a Shakapahona on the 1855 roll living there. This is at the same time that Susan Pusley LeFlore is listed in Towson Co with Col Thomas LeFlore her husband. Shakapahoma and Wakatombi of Sugar Loaf are the parents of Robert Benton b. 1842. Wakatombi is listed on the 1855 roll in Eagle County. Mary LeFlore b. abt 1830 lists her parents as Thomas LeFlore, of Red River and Shakapahoma of Sugar Loaf. This Mary is listed as Full Blood in Sugar Loaf Co. I'm not saying that Mary is not the daughter of Col. Thomas LeFlore, but she is not listed as a descendant in the Net Proceeds testimony. There is also another Thomas LeFlore of Wade County. He died about 1868 and was the sheriff of Wade County. Both of these men were about the same age. Col. Thomas had 9 children with him in the emigration records. Sandra Riley
