Rusty during that time in history of Indian territory days you have to realize there was a lot of polygamy going on from what I have figured out, and also alot of illigitimate births. I have relatives listed on some of my census card with a different Surname than the person signed as the head of the house hold, and it is stated on the records that they were an illigitimate birth. I also have census card records showing where my G grandmother was listed on a census card as head of house hold with a family under the Surname she had before she married my G grandfather and I also have a census card showing where my G grandfather was the head of house hold with a family before he married my G grandmother...LOL..I Hope that made sense to ya Rusty Peace and Love, Slimey ========Original Message============== From: Rlang90547@aol.com Date: Sun, Apr 9, 2000, 6:03am (CDT+1) To: CHOCTAW-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [CHOCTAW] O'Beirne/Simon E. Lewis Reply to: CHOCTAW-L@rootsweb.com Thanks again to Nalora for all her tireless work on the O'Beirne Index. I checked out the whole book from my Tulsa library and find it fascinating. However, I wonder if anyone else has found mistakes? Specifically, my great-grandmother, widow of Benjamin Murphey, is listed and pictured as married to Simon E. Lewis at the same time I have her married to my great-grandfather, Thomas Danenhour(documented). Does anyone have info on Simon Lewis? Anyone else find mistakes? Rusty Lang By the way, my website is down for spring cleaning. Look for surprises soon!!! hrttp://homepages.rootsweb.com/~impson
