Pitchlynn served as chief of the Choctaws from 1864-1866 he moved to Eagletown in 1834 and opened a large plantation on the east bank of the Mountain Fork River near the home of his brother -in -law Calvin Howell . There is a picture on page 3 in the book 'McCurtain County A Pictorial History by the McCurtain Co.
