Hello Choctaws, I hope there are those among you who can assist me in my search. My great great grandfather was Joshua Bohanon ( born 1819 in Mississippi) one of the sons of William Bohanon, Sr., and a full-blood Choctaw woman. Joshua married four times in the course of his long life; his fourth and final wife was Louisa Christy, the daughter of George Christy and Emily Bohanon. Joshua and Louisa were the parents of four children: Frances, Jacob, Silas, and Elizabeth. Frances married Washington Hudson, and their oldest son was Peter Wayland Hudson, my wonderful grandfather. After all that comes the question. Can anyone supply any information concerning the George Christy family? All we know of him is just his name and the fact of his marriage to Emily Bohanon. I live in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, now, and Christy is also a Cherokee name. I don't know that I have met a Choctaw Christy--something that I hope to remedy.
