I heard of a Federal civil servant to get into a "minority" privilages program, met one qualifier by haveing a Spanish sirname ending in (don't recall); he legally changed his name to meet the Spanish sirname requirement and I think it got in the news because the government sued him or somesuch? Those of us who are many multi-heritaged are treated as if we have no heritage--it's all, or nothing. I have Irish, Native American, German, Prussian, Scot, English, Irish, and likely Welch; I am all of these, yet no one of these. I'm not an Irishman, nor Scot, nor Indian, nor German, nor French--but I'm still a human, is that now un-American?
