Jennifer: The Jena Band has a web page - type "Jena Band of Choctaw Indians" into your search engine and see what you get. They have gotten their federal recognition only in the last few years. They are the descendants of a handful of escapees from the Trail of Tears when it went through Monroe, La. on the Ouachita River.
