Hi Doug, It doesn't hurt :-) We show William's name as William D. Thompson on Everything, except in my parents wedding album on the family tree page, from early 1950's. William has been traced back to the early -mid 1800's thru early 1900's. He was a Justice of the Peace in the mid 1800's in Tallapoosa Co. AL, so I hope that if I can see a copy of his records (if they still exist), some light might be shed on his name. Perhaps he slipped one time and entered his complete name in a record! His obit from Mississippi only shows "D", the sneek! Thanks for the additional possibility for Durden.
