YORK William was born in Wayne county Mo, February, 1852. William attended the neighborhood schools until 1873, and in the latter end of that year went to North Texas, where he engaged in the stock business. He remained there for two years, after which he came to Boggy Depot, Choctaw Nation, and commenced farming. In 1876 he married Miss Sarah Ward, a Cherokee, and daughter of Sam Ward, of Boggy depot, and cousin of Hon. H. P. Ward, of Kiowa. By this marriage they had six children, Maud, Ella, Leslie O., Mabel Lee, Willie, Pearl and Benjamin. After his marriage he engaged in the stock business and farming, and is now the owner of a nice little stock of cattle, horses and hogs besides one hundred and fifty acres of land under cultivation.
