Hi List, Someone asked about Alfred Burney a few days back and that name rung a bell with me, probably from hearing my mother mention him. Anyway, I was at the National Archives today and I looked him up on the Dawes Rolls. It goes like this: Alfred Burney, Roll No. 6013, Census Card 2088, Albion, I.T., age 22, 1/2 blood, 1893, Wade Co., father, David Burney, Wade Co., mother, Elizabeth Burney, Wade Co. note: on 1893 Pay Roll as Alfred Burnie, pg. 9 #81, Wade Co., Second note: husband of Sarah Wright on Choc. card # 2196. Choc. Card # 2196, Sarah Burney (Sarah was divorced from Watson Wright, my great uncle), age 17, 1/4 blood, father, Stephen Woods, dcd., mother, Minnie James,dcd., non-citizen, Sarah married Alfred Burney, their daughter was Clara, 3/4 blood, b. 1/19/1901.
