Hi all, This is my line. My grandfather Sam Willis (no middle name) was born in 1905 in I. T. He was on the Choctaw by blood newborn roll No. NB440. Sam's father Willie died when he was about 5 years old. His mother remarried twice but the second husband only lived about 2 years after the marriage. Sam was raised by his stepfather Vernon H. Elder. He attended an Indian boarding school for a time but never graduated. I don't yet know what school. He married at age 17. Because he didn't really remember his father and was raised in a all white household (he is listed as white on the 1920 Census) he had little knowledge of his family. What he know is basically what is written below. We believe there is a Martha Willis involved somehow. She apparenty tried to claim Denison's land allotment after his death. Ther is a Martha Willis on the roll whose roll number is very close to Willie & Denisons' (they have sequential numbers) Any help would be greatly appreciated.
