"MAHERSHEL HASHEBEZ WHITE bought land in Pickens County on 07/02/1860 next door to JOHN W. WHITE. In 1850 a JAMES WHITE and WILLIAM H. WHITE were in Lauderdale County, MS buying land as assignees for ISTE MANCHA HONA AND ASHAHEMA representatives of MANCHATU" Can anyone tell me any thing about the above? Is Manchatu a tribe and the others names of Indian people? Family story is that Mahershel's wife Elizabeth Ann SUTTLE was born in Chactaw camp and that they also were married in Indian camp.
