I was told that my great, great grandmother was choctaw. Her name was Emaline Lowery married to Frances Marion McKnight. They were married in choctaw county Missisippi. Both were born in Alabama but moved to Mississippi. Emaline's mother and father were James Peter Carter Lowery, and Eliza Collier. They were from Alabama and moved to Mississippi. Then Eliza's parents were Abraham Collier and Kaziah Bagwell. Anyway I can't get any information on the McKnight part. Or find where the choctaw is supposed to come in at. Also while looking for my mother's people I ran across Blount's on a surname list and this is my father's people so I as wondering if he had any choctaw in him. He always said black irish and a little spanish from his grandma she was a Hill that really was a Hildago. I was told they changed some of the Hildagos to Hill when they come from spain. so I am one lost puppy lol. I think maybe to describe my family is more like heinz 57. But hey I still want to know as I would be proud to find choctaw or spanish in my line thanks for any help you can give Julie Moton jmoton3557@aol.com my friends call me J.J. p.s. Can anyone tell me what black irish is? Is it different from plain irish?
