    3. >Hello, I am searching for a connection with Harris family line. As the rest of you, I do not have much to go on except for some family stories. I do know that my mother, Harvey Daniel Harris was born in Pine Bluff Arkansas dec 8 1918, her father was Choctaw lineage, from Oklahoma - named Clayton Harris, he married Irene Flynn. Irene's father owned a saloon in Pine Bluff Arkansas, and Clayton worked for her family. During prohibition, the saloon was closed down, father in law of Clayton Harris died, family home (on a tree named street) burned down. My mother was an unregistered family birth, and has been unable to trace any roots, she has always felt like an abandoned child. Her parents, Clayton and Irene left her to be raised by her grandmother, also named Irene Flynn - I have no further infomation, but believe Harris is a common Choctaw name, and I heard from another that there is lots of them in Oklahoma, which is where my mom believes her father was from. I also question why a female child born in 1918 would have been given such a strange name, unless she was named after a relative of same name, or an important famous person. Does anyone have an idea on this one? I will also mention that my mother was only a baby when her grandmother took her from Arkansas to San Francisco California, making the connection with family members difficult to trace. I thank any of you in advance for your thoughts, or information. Also, I must mention,Iam using my husband's e mail address, that 's why it says Michael. Actually, this note if from Stephanie, hello to yo all. f
