In the 1860's-1880's a Ballard, Johnson, and Tucker were in Red River Co., Tx. and before in Hempstead, Ark. The head of the house was a Elizabeth Ballard, 50 b. Ark. and in the house also Joseph Johnson, 30, b. Tenn. Elizabeth, 23, b. Tx., William Tucker, 4, b. Tx. and Laura Johnson 2, b. La. ( must have been her second husbands dau.)
