Hi: Thanks for your reply. I've got my COLLINS back to SHADRACK COLLINS born 1785 in either North or So. Carolina. Unfortunately, I have not spent a lot of time on this line and need to really do some work on it. SHADRACK's son was SOLOMON COLLINS born 1835 Mississippi>WILLIAM SHADRACK (BILLY) COLLINS born 1861 Winn Parish, La.> DANIEL EUGENE COLLINS born 1886 La. Where would I look to find out if this is my David Anderson? I know his wife was Sarah but do not know her last name. I was thinking she might have been Choctaw. Nona Dale very much looked Indian and my mother had remembered family saying she was but, as far as David I am not sure. This is the first David Anderson I have run into. I was beginning to think he came from outer space. I believe the tribal offices have the originals, as they are the property of the Choctaw Nation. What you get from the Natl. Archives are just copies, I think...I could be wrong. But the tribe will also charge a fee. dustyc@microgear.net -----Original Message----- From: Jamialane@aol.com <Jamialane@aol.com> To: CHOCTAW-L@rootsweb.com <CHOCTAW-L@rootsweb.com> Date: Friday, February 11, 2000 6:27 PM Subject: Re: [CHOCTAW] ANDERSON FAMILY >In a message dated 2/11/2000 5:44:07 PM Central Standard Time, >dustyc@microgear.net writes: > ><< By the age listed on the info. I am rather new to the list, but I am sure you all know you can find the Dawes Roll on this site http://www.nara.gov/nara/nail.html Then click onto Search for Archival Holdings Next click onto Expert Search Keywords - type in final rolls and click onto Display Results Go down to Number 2 and click onto the word Full Click onto Links to digital copies The rolls are alphabetical but it is sooooo slow and you have to guess where a certain alphabet would be, but that way one can look up all the names they want - by blood, new borns, by marriage, etc.
Many thanks for your specific directions to the Dawes roll site at nara. gov I've read about it from others on this digest but never been able to get there. Original msg:--------------------
Lynda, Yes, Nona Dale Anderson was born in 1885 and married a Jasper Newton Parsons. Their son Charles Melvine Parsons was born in 1903 in Guthrie, Logan Co. Oklahoma.
