Hi I'm looking for help with the following very elusive fellow, Gee KEUR, who later changed his name to John GEE. His son's birth certificate shows Gee KEUR was born in China in 1832. I have been told Gee KEUR is a Dutch name. I wondered if he was born on a trading vessel and the nearest port of call was China?? His children are all named after his wife's side of the family so that is of no help to giving an idea of the name of his parents. The next I know of him is that he married in 1858 in Queensland, Australia. Even the place he and his wife were living at and married in is proving elusive. Over the last 20 years I have asked many people in Ipswich, where I live, about the Belle Vesta (where Gee KEUR was married and lived) and no-one has heard of it. I have searched land records, etc - all to no avail. Has anyone any links or ideas?
