Dear Penny, One of the best sites on Chinese genealogy is presented by the Chou Clansmen Association of America. While their genealogy is solely of their own clan and family surname, it gives scholarly and religious insights into the origin and history of China. This family genealogy should be looked into by scholars of Chinese history. According to the Chou clan records, the Chou clan descends from an Arab or Hebrew tribe of people, who are ther forerunners of the Jews, but from a different branch of Eber. In early China, it was the Chou tribe, Shang people, and Ji people that brought about most of the civilized developments and shaped the nation under Emperor Huang Di. The Chou tribe threads its succession throughout all of China's Imperial lineage and history and is, today, China's Imperial family. So, this simple genealogy is quite important in the understanding of not only China's early culture, but of understanding China itself. The major descendants of the last ruling dynasty resides in Hawaii and California as part of the Chou Dynasty, as does the Chun family of the Ming Dynasty, China's last indigenous Han-Chinese ruling dynasty.
