Barbara This is a long shot, but I also have Chinese ancestry at Mudgee and Dunedoo - I wonder if you have come across the name HEN or HEND in your travels - would love to hear how you are researching this seemingly impossible branch of the family. How exciting - I was thrilled to hear from you. I think we are related too. It could be a bit distant, as my Grandmother had three husbands, one of which was Samuel. These are the details I have so far: Sam was born in 1861 in Mudgee (BC 10014 - Father ? and mother Harriette. In 1893 Sam married Emma A Antonowitch (Emma A Spearman on Marriage Cert No. 4948). in Mudgee. He was Emma's third husband. In 1893 Annie Ivy Teong was born in Mudgee (23978). In 1896 Richard P Teong was born in Mudgee (23554). IN 1910 Samuel H V Teong died (DC F Samuel W MCS M Lilian R) In 1931 a Samuel Teong died in Mudgee (aged 73 years) BDM. In 1947 another Samuel Teong died 6.9.1947 aged 85 -buried in Portland Cemetary. I am more interested in John Daniel Chy who was Emma Annie Antonowitch's second wife. On their marriage certificate Annie I Teong was a witness, so they must have been friends. John Daniel Chy was born in 1826 in China he arrived in Australia approx 1846. He was a jeweller and lived in Mudgee. In 1884 Ethel May Chy was born. She was my mother Theresa Moore (Parker) mother. Her first husband was Benjamin Spearman. I have lots more info. I have not posted it on the web yet as it is still a work in progress. But if you would like to contact me directly or, or if you have an e-mail address I could send you a copy of my Tree so far. There is also a lady living in Portland. I have spoken to her by phone, but she does not have any info. Regards, hope to hear from you soon. Barbara Moore barbaramoore@bigpond.com
