I do not descend from this line, but I was doing some checking of records at Ancestry.com and FamilySearch.org, and may have some hints for you. I found George and Agnes on the 1900 census, in Dunnellon, Marion Co., Florida. (ED 91 page 137A.) It states: Chesser, George, head, b. April 1878, age 29, b. FL/ father b. GA/ mother b. GA, mar. 4 yrs. , Agnes, wife, b. Mar 1881, age 19, b. FL, both parents b. FL , George, son, b. April 1899, age 1, b. FL, both parents b. FL. Next door is Ferny??? Chesser, b. Oct. 1874, age 25, FL/GA/GA, mar. 0 yrs. , Mary, wife, b. Oct. 1884, age 15, FL/GA/SC Both men are house carpenters. In the WW1 Draft Registration cards, I found a George Albert Chesser: George Albert Chesser County: Citrus State: Florida Birth Date: 6 Apr 1900 Race: White Roll: 1556880 I looked for George and his brother on the 1880 census. I found one that possibly matches, but George Sr. would be older than he stated in the 1900 census. J., wife, 26, 6 children-2 living, FL/GA/GA , Lloyd E., 6, son, FL/FL/FL , Annie May, dgt., 1 4/12, FL/FL/FL In 1920, the two families are in Citrus Co., but this time, the grandmother's name is finally listed, but the age is off. Chesser was still in Citrus Co. in 1930 with son "Bob." *1930*; Census Place: *Hernando, Citrus, Florida*; Roll: *308*; Page: *2A*; Enumeration District: *17*; "Belmer" Chesser is in Citrus Co., also, age 17, uncle of Polly and Herman Riggs.*1930*; Census Place: *Lecanto, Citrus, Florida*; Roll: *308*; Page: *2A*; Enumeration District: *7*; Here are some FL death record indexes. I am betting that Elizabeth Chesser, who died in 1926, is the grandmother of Harry and George. If you order her death certificate, it may give information about who her parents were. Mary Jane is probably Fermy's wife. I'm wondering if perhaps Dorothy and/or James are two of the children that did not survive. (Mary stated in 1910 that she had 6 children-2 living.) Furnie W. would surely be the Ferny that we find on the censuses. I think that is your best option in finding ancestors. Elizabeth is obviously your Harry and George's grandmother, and Fernie is obviously their uncle. If you look at both of their death certificates, then you may have some more clues to go on. Elizabeth's death certificate # : 1926, Vol. 297, #9726. The index didn't have Furnie's certificate information, so you'll have to just order it by date. Good luck! -Rhonda A.
